Presidential elections | The number one name in IS’s presidential poll is now Foreign Minister Pekka Haavisto

The CEO of the Bank of Finland, Olli Rehn, was second in the survey. Mika Aaltola of the Foreign Policy Institute fell to third place.

Foreign minister Pekka Haavisto (green) has risen Ilta-Sanomie presidential poll to first place. 48 percent of those who responded to the survey could vote for Haavisto in the next presidential election.

Since the last poll in October, Haavisto’s support has increased by five percentage points.

In IS’s survey, the interviewees could choose from a list of 30 names the ones they could imagine voting for in the 2024 presidential election.

Second the governor of the Bank of Finland became the most popular Olli Rehn (average) with 40 percent, which is two percentage points less than the October survey.

Third is the leader of the previous survey, the director of the Foreign Policy Institute Mika Aaltola with 36 percent. Aaltola’s support dropped by eight percentage points. In October, Aaltola was the first non-political person to become the most popular person in the survey.

Prime minister Sanna Marin (sd) is still fourth on the list with 31 percent and is a former prime minister Alexander Stubb (kok) is fifth on the list with 27 percent. The chairman of the left-wing coalition, the minister of education, is on a level with Stubb Lee Andersson.

The survey is pre-election, as the candidates have not yet been nominated. The vote could also be given to more people than you could imagine voting for.

Taloustutkimus interviewed more than a thousand people for the survey in an internet panel at the turn of the month. The margin of error for the entire material is about 3 percentage points in each direction.
