Businessmen, politicians and social representatives attend the toast for the new year organized by Martínez Pagán in his winery
One hundred of the most important representatives of the company, economy, security and other sectors of the regional society said goodbye to the year in style in Cartagena. The vice president of the Regional Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs (Fremm) and well-known director of companies from Cartagena Tomás Martínez Pagán recovered this Saturday, after two years of pandemic, the traditional midday toast that he has organized for fifteen years in the cellar of his residence in Cartagena. It is an appointment in which he brings together some of the most representative people from politics, business, the judiciary and society in the Region of Murcia.
Nearly a hundred personalities, including officials from different political parties, left ideologies aside on this New Year’s Eve day to toast that the new year brings all kinds of benefits to the Region. After an exquisite aperitif made up of local products and wines, they raised their glasses for prosperity in the new year.
There were the vice president of the Autonomous Community, Isabel Franco, the president of the Regional Assembly, Alberto Castillo, the mayoress of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, the general secretary of the Government Delegation, Francisco Jiménez, the senator of the PP Francisco Bernabé and the General Director of Social Policy, Raquel Cancela, among other politicians.
Authorities and businessmen also enjoyed the toast, such as the regional police chief, Ignacio del Olmo, the admiral of the Cartagena Military Arsenal, Pedro de la Puente, the director of the Repsol petrochemical complex in Escombreras, Antonio Mestre, the director of the Port Authority of Cartagena, Fermín Rol, the director of the English Court in this city, Hugo Lorente, and the president of the COEC, Ana Correa, among others.
The president of the Fremm, Alfonso Hernández Zapata from Cartagena, was also absent, who conversed in a relaxed way with the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation, Miguel Martínez Bernal. For the first time, the new older sister of the Brotherhood of the Risen One and president of the Holy Week Brotherhood Board, Marién García Boj, attended the midday toast. On behalf of the judiciary, the senior judge of Cartagena, María del Mar Gómez, attended, who greeted the director of the Security School of the Cartagena City Council, the Local Police Commissioner Manuel Asensio.
After the brief speeches of several of them, in an informal tone and with the best wishes for the new year, the guests were presented, as is traditional, with a Christmas painting, this time with a work by the Cartagena artist Francisco Solana.
