Minister of Transport states that he will monitor the highway opening operations; more than 100 sections are paralyzed
The Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, declared this Sunday (May 5, 2024) that he will stay in Rio Grande do Sul to monitor the operations to clear road sections affected by the rains in the State. In an interview with GloboNewsRenan Filho stated that his stay was a request from the president Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT).
According to data from the Daer-RS (Autonomous Department of Highways of Rio Grande do Sul), 120 road sections are completely paralyzed. Another 41 are partially closed to vehicle circulation.
Renan Filho arrived in Rio Grande do Sul this Sunday (May 5), along with the delegation of ministers who accompanied Lula on a visit to the state. In a press conference, the president stated that the federal government will help with the reconstruction of roads in Rio Grande do Sul.
