Puglia, Pisicchio case: looking for a third man
“The Prosecutor's Office is investigating the possible leakand in this sense we are also trying to understand who the other person involved in the affair is”. Corriere della Sera wrote this today in reference to the Alfonsino Pisicchio affair. The investigators have been studying the phone of the arrested former regional councilor for days on April 10 for corruption and bid rigging.
“The objective is to examine the messages that the governor Michele Emiliano would have sent to Pisicchio a few hours before his arrestwarning him – according to what Pisicchio himself said during the preliminary interrogation – of a possible acceleration of the investigations against him”, we read in the Corriere della Sera, “and putting him at a crossroads: either he resigns from the Arti (l 'Regional Agency for Technology and Innovation, which Pisicchio directed until the day of his arrest) or removal”.
As Corriere della Sera adds, Emiliano, “in the few explanations given to Pisicchio, he would have said that he had learned of the acceleration of the investigation from an unspecified “Roman source”. The identification of this source is also a matter for the Prosecutor's Office”. Emiliano also gave a few words to the Corriere: “I have made a choice of absolute confidentiality on this story precisely so as not to interfere with the investigations underway”, he says regarding the message sent to Pisicchio a few hours before his arrest.
