New York architecture surprises once again with its buildings. This time it is the Steinway Tower, also known as ‘Coffee Stirrer’ (Coffee stirrer, in Spanish), because it is one of the tallest skyscrapers in the city, but it is also the thinnest in the world.
With a height of 435 meters, this construction is positioned among one of the tallest in the worldbelow the One World Trade Center, which has a length of 541 meters.
This building is located in eastern Manhattan and is suitable for housing. It has 60 luxury apartments in its 84 floors, from which you can see a 360-degree view of the Big Apple.
The apartments are very narrow, being as wide as a standard bowling alley.
In the common areas, the building houses a private dining room, luxury shops, a 7.8-square-meter swimming pool, a double-height gym with a terrace and outdoor spaces. Additionally, there is a concierge service available 24 hours.
(We suggest: The residential cruise ship that wants to be a ‘big floating city’).
How much does it cost to live there?
The most expensive residence is Triplex Park Loggia Penthouse 72, a three-story, four-bedroom, five-bathroom apartment with luxury finishes.
Its price is 65.9 million dollars (more than 247 billion Colombian pesos)while the cheapest property has a value of 7 million dollars (26 billion pesos).
The floors of the apartments are made with white macauba stone and have a private elevator. Bathrooms are clad in white onyx and their bathtubs are handcrafted from nickel by British designer William Holland.
Additionally, the lighting in this building is very good, as the windows in the master bedrooms and bathrooms go from floor to ceiling, from which you can see all of Manhattan. As for the exterior, the skyscraper is made up of terracotta blocks that seem to change color with the different temperatures provided by the angles of the sun’s rays.
(We recommend: Visa to the USA: learn about the new developments in the process).
What is the worst that can happen?
According to a review by ‘The Guardian’, the building has a very particular defect and that is that on the upper floors you can constantly feel a sway due to the blows produced by the wind currents.
Several residents have even assured that they suffer from strong nausea caused by movement on a daily basis, but that it is not a significant problem that detracts from the value of homes.
Additionally, This seems to be a usual complication that other skyscrapers in the sector have suffered, such as 432 Park Avenue.where the singer Jennifer López used to reside.
