The Russian government has established quotas for the export of mineral fertilizers from the country
The Russian Cabinet of Ministers has established quotas for the export of one product from the country – mineral fertilizers. This is reported in Telegram-government channel.
As the Cabinet of Ministers reported, this decision was made on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. It is clarified that the decision made will help maintain the volume of fertilizers in the country’s domestic market, which will ensure food security in Russia.
“The Ministry of Industry and Trade has been instructed to distribute quota volumes among exporters. The restrictions will not apply to the supply of fertilizers to Abkhazia and South Ossetia,” the government clarified.
Earlier it was reported that the Russian Ministry of Agriculture proposed to increase the grain export quota of 24 million tons by 4 million tons, which will come into effect on February 15.
