For some reason, it is still frowned upon in many parties: the opposition has been demanding the postponement of climate action for a long time, but now the parliamentary group of the Sdp would also like to increase fossil emissions rights”, Ohisalo said at his party’s summer meeting in Turku.

Ohisalo also pointed out that the Greens will not be in a government where climate action is put on hold. He emphasized that this is a threshold issue for the party.

The greens at the summer meeting, vice-chairman Iris Suomela demanded additional support for public transport from the government’s budget rush, so that ticket prices can be kept reasonable.

In Suomela’s opinion, in addition to direct support, public transport taxation, such as value added tax, can be reduced.

Many cities are now planning to increase public transport ticket prices.
