Called a “fortress” due to the degree of travel restrictions imposed during the most bitter moments of the pandemic, Australia will reopen, for the first time, next Monday (21). However, only vaccinated tourists will enter.

Except for citizens and foreigners residing on Australian soil, since March 2020, as soon as the new coronavirus pandemic was decreed by the World Health Organization, the country closed completely. Even Australian citizens could only leave the country with some justification.

The country has more than 94% of people over the age of 16 vaccinated and has 5,000 deaths so far. Last month, Australia was at the center of a huge debate over the deportation of Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, who had not been vaccinated.
