One person was killed and five others were injured when a roadside bomb exploded in Asadabad, the capital of the Afghan province of Kunar, on Sunday.
Police Chief Abdul Haq Haqqani said, “This morning at 08:30 a number of security personnel in Ghaziabad district were on their way to Assadabad in a military convoy when an explosive device exploded on the side of the road on Karhali Bridge in their vehicle, injuring three policemen. Security forces and three civilians, one of whom later died of his wounds.”
He added that the security forces rushed to the scene of the explosion and arrested a number of suspects, and they are currently being investigated.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.
