Emirates Global Aluminium, the largest industrial company in the United Arab Emirates outside the oil and gas sector, announced yesterday a donation of 3 million dirhams to the humanitarian campaign “One Billion Meals”, launched by the UAE with the aim of fighting hunger in 50 countries around the world.
The campaign reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to put comprehensive humanitarian aid at the top of the priorities. The initiative has so far provided more than 420 million meals, making it the largest food distribution campaign in the region.
Abdul Nasser bin Kalban, CEO of Emirates Global Aluminium, said: “We are honored to participate in the “One Billion Meals” initiative, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and donate 3 million dirhams to the needy. Million Dirhams from Sharaf Group
Sharaf Group also donated one million dirhams to the “One Billion Meals” initiative, which is organized by the “Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives” to provide relief to the poor and needy for food support in 50 countries around the world.
The support of the group, which is active in various sectors, including maritime shipping, logistics services, logistics networks, retail trade, travel and tourism, information technology, financial services, hospitality and real estate, education and manufacturing, contributes to the arrival of food aid through the “Billion Meals” initiative to beneficiaries in the less fortunate communities.
Sharaf Group joins a long list of individuals, institutions and associations that support this largest campaign in the region, which was launched from the UAE to enable those wishing to support charitable, humanitarian and community work to support the goals of the initiative aimed at providing a food safety net for vulnerable groups, especially children, refugees and displaced persons.

The donation made by the Sharaf Group is equivalent to one million meals, by providing basic foodstuffs required to prepare meals provided in the form of basic materials and food parcels to the needy.
One million dirhams from KPMG
KPMG has provided one million dirhams in support of the “One Billion Meals” initiative, the largest of its kind in the region to provide food support to the needy and vulnerable groups, especially children, refugees and displaced persons in 50 countries.
KPMG’s support for the initiative was distinguished by the fact that it was shared between the company’s employees and management, who believed in the noble goal of this initiative that seeks to combat hunger, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. This support comes in response to the generous call of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to provide relief to the hungry and to feed the hungry in communities that need support around the world, especially vulnerable groups such as women, children, refugees, displaced people and victims of disasters and crises.
