“The United States and other hostile forces recently talked about violating the United Nations Security Council resolution and spread “rumors about arms agreements” between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Russia,” the agency quoted the Deputy Director-General of the Materiel Office of the Ministry of National Defense in an unnamed statement. We have never exported arms or ammunition to Russia before and do not intend to do so.”
US State Department deputy spokesman Vidnet Patel said this month that Russia “is in the process of procuring millions of North Korean missiles and anti-artillery shields for use in Ukraine.”
White House national security spokesman John Kirby said there were “no indications that this transaction has been completed, and absolutely no indications that these weapons are being used in Ukraine”, describing it as a “potential purchase.”
North Korea’s statement warned the United States to “remain silent” and to stop spreading such rumors, apparently aimed at “tarnishing the country’s image”.
