A mother of a family with her youngest daughter jumped from the fourth floor of a building in order to escape a fire, in Callao, Peru. Both women survived thanks to the help of neighbors who placed several mattresses to cushion the fall.
The incident occurred this weekend in a multi-family building. Witnesses reported that, after the accident occurred, the mother and her little girl were left with no chance of escaping up the stairs.
Firefighters arrived at the scene to control the situation.
Seeing this, neighbors decided to make a mound of mattresses and blankets so that both people could throw themselves and save their lives. This plan It worked and there were no fatalities to report.

“Several people from the building had to climb to the roof to jump to the other adjoining house. We had to do that to save ourselves, especially the children. They threw themselves because they could no longer go up or down the stairs, it was the only way to save them,” a neighbor told the local news program ‘Buenos Días Perú’.
