Mosenergo confirmed to Izvestia information about the ignition of a turbine at CHPP-20 on Vavilov Street in Moscow and the presence of one victim.
“On February 3, at 03:47 Moscow time, the TA-7 turbine unit was switched off by automatic protection at CHPP-20, and the front part of the turbine caught fire,” said Sergey Shandarov, head of the Mosenergo press service.
He also noted that already at 4:40 the fire was eliminated by the station personnel.
The power supply to consumers is not disrupted, the station is operating normally, Shandarov said.
“The causes of the incident are being investigated. The employee of the contracting organization injured as a result of the incident is receiving medical assistance,» he assured.
The fact that in the south of Moscow there was a fire at a thermal power plant was reported earlier on Thursday by a source from Izvestia.
