The Ukrainian Ministry of Health has destroyed half a million overdue doses of the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine. About this November 9 edition LIGA.net reported in the department.
It is noted that the vaccines, which should have expired on October 31, were destroyed at the end of last month.
On September 13, the Ukrainian government amended the anti-epidemic rules to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. According to the new rules, COVID certificates will be divided into green and yellow, the work of some establishments will be allowed even if a “red zone” of quarantine is introduced in the presence of a large number of vaccinated.
In March, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People faction, Dmitry Gurin, proposed limiting Ukrainians in certain rights for refusing to be vaccinated. In particular, in his opinion, citizens who have not been vaccinated should not be allowed into cafes and restaurants, educational institutions, cinemas, as well as sports events.
Vaccination against coronavirus infection started in Ukraine in February. On the 24th, the country began using the drug Covishield. CoronaVac has been in use since April 13, AstraZeneca has been in use since April 18, and Comirnaty has started on April 26. The Moderna vaccine has become available to Ukrainians since July 22.
On October 2, the country’s Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko announced that the Ukrainian authorities plan to start producing their own vaccines against influenza and coronavirus in 2022. According to him, the first Ukrainian drug will leave the line next year.
