The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahuwarned this Wednesday, at the beginning of a Government meeting, that no one is going to impose on him what decision he should make regarding Israel's response, after Iran's attack this past weekend with more than 300 projectiles, although he appreciated the proposals of its main partners.
“I thank our friends for their support in the defense of Israel and all their advice. But I want to be clear: we will make our decisions ourselves. “The State of Israel will do everything necessary to defend itself,” he said.
I thank our friends for their support in the defense of Israel and all their advice. But I want to be clear: we will make our decisions ourselves. The State of Israel will do everything necessary to defend itself.
The Israeli president made these statements after meeting this Wednesday in his Jerusalem office with the British Foreign Minister, David Cameron; and his German counterpart, Annalena Baerbock, to whom he also insisted that the Jewish State must preserve its right to self-defense, after the wave of attacks launched by Tehran in the early hours of Saturday to Sunday.
“I also had a telephone conversation last night with the British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and I will speak to other leaders soon.”Netanyahu explained.
Regarding this phone call, a spokesperson for Downing Street, the office of the head of the United Kingdom Government, explained that Sunak reiterated his “firm support” to Netanyahu, but at the same time stressed that “a major escalation is not in anyone's interest and only “would deepen insecurity in the Middle East.”
Earlier today I spoke to Prime Minister @netanyahu and reiterated our support for Israel's security following Iran's reckless attack at the weekend.
Further significant escalation will only deepen instability in the region.
This is a moment for calm heads to prevail.

The Israeli offensive has already caused 33,899 deaths and 76,664 injuries in the enclave after at least 56 people died in the last 24 hours and another 89 were injured in attacks by the Israeli Army, the Gaza Ministry of Health reported this Wednesday.

Precisely the situation in Gaza has been another of the topics that Netanyahu has addressed with the two Foreign Ministers to explain the situation of both the fighting and humanitarian aid.
In this sense, The Israeli Prime Minister rejected that the enclave is on the verge of famine, as human rights organizations have been denouncing in recent months. given the limited arrival of aid that continues to enter, especially in the north of the Strip.
