The Saadiyat Marina and Ferry Terminal represents a multi-use maritime center and a vital destination for various types of ships and craft. It includes a group of marine facilities including 64 floating berths for docking ships, a 10-meter-wide boat launch, 12 dry marine parks, six stores, 70 parking spaces, and administrative facilities. The Integrated Transport Center, in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Maritime, works to achieve the common vision of the Department of Municipalities and Transport and Abu Dhabi Ports Group, which extends beyond infrastructure development, to also include responsible management of marine ecosystems. In recognition of the impact of this on the marine environment surrounding the project, an extensive study was conducted in cooperation with the Environment and Sustainability Department at Abu Dhabi Ports Group, the result of which was the installation of 17 special, environmentally friendly concrete mattresses on the seabed at the Saadiyat Marina and Ferry Terminal, in addition to marine environment-friendly panels on the quay walls. It is made of special materials that blend in with the marine environment. These mattresses were developed by a leading scientific company, and the boards were developed by a cutting-edge company in the field of natural technology. The mattresses and panels create a fertile natural environment that contributes to the growth of living organisms, in addition to improving water quality and biodiversity, which contributes to the preservation of marine habitats and their survival in their natural habitats.
