January closes with a 3% price increase compared to the previous year. This is reflected in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) that the National Statistics Institute (INE) has disseminated this Thursday. This is the fourth consecutive month in which inflation is rebuilt and the highest record since June of last year.
The year -on -year IPC has rebounded two tenths with respect to December reading, mainly due to the increase in fuels and energy prices. On the contrary, the underlying inflation – the indicator that discounts the most volatile prices such as energy and unplanned foods – was reduced two tenths to 2.4%.
