For years, an Egyptian woman from the south of the country, specifically Sohag Governorate, managed to impersonate a doctor, as she extracted a card for members of the Medical Syndicate in Egypt, and owned a hospital while contributing to the birth of dozens of women until she was discovered by the security forces, according to an official statement from the Egyptian Medical Syndicate.
Dr. Abu Bakr Al-Qadi, a member of the Medical Syndicate Council, told Al-Ittihad: The discovery of the woman impersonating a doctor and who performed operations as a result, the Free Treatment Department succeeded in discovering her matter, indicating that she is not restricted to the Syndicate’s schedules from the ground up, and her implementation of these operations is in violation of the law In general, it exposes the lives of citizens to death.
The judge added that legal measures were taken urgently by the Egyptian Medical Syndicate, after the arrest of the woman impersonating a doctor in Sohag governorate, who turned out to be from Qena governorate – south of the Egyptian capital Cairo – noting that the law prevents impersonation or the practice of the medical profession without Graduation in medical colleges, obtaining licenses from the Ministry of Health and Population, and membership in the Medical Syndicate.
Security forces’ investigations showed that the fake doctor is 41 years old, resides in the city of Nagaa Hammadi in the neighboring governorate of Qena, and is wanted in 11 cases of “dissipation” (breach of trust), and several court rulings have been issued against her and she is criminally registered.
The accused, in turn, admitted to practicing medicine and running a maternity center for women in a province other than her own for profit.
