Malmi kebab is named after Malminkatu in Turku, where the original restaurant was located. The restaurant was founded by Khaled’s brother Ghazi Azizi in 2017. In June 2021, the brothers together opened another restaurant in the center of Turku on Eerikinkatu.

Just From Malminkatu, the restaurant rose to national popularity. However, the kiosk-like restaurant building has stood empty for the past six months. Prior to the closure of the Malminkatu restaurant, allegations of uncleanness and the rat problem spread on social media.
In November 2021, Turku’s environmental health inspected the Malminkatu restaurant. The public Oiva report shows that the restaurant received the worst possible ratings in all inspections. In addition, pests were found during the inspection.
In December 2021, the restaurant on Malminkatu was closed. Khaled Azizi promised in a Tiktok video that the restaurant will remain closed for only a few months. At the same time, he knocked out allegations of problems with the place and called them rumors on the internet.
The Malminkatu restaurant closed at the end of 2021.
Ghazi Azizi denies that the restaurant left Malminkatu because of the problems mentioned in the Oiva report. According to him, the lease of the plot ended and the restaurant building needed renovation.

According to Aziz, the pests mentioned in the Oiva report did not influence the decision to close the restaurant.
“No way. There is a lot on the internet that that would have been the reason. Rats have long been a problem for the whole of Portsa. ”
Malminkatu Restaurant is located near Port Arthur.
