A strange weekend
The Shanghai Weekend of Lewis Hamilton had undeniably started off on the right foot, with the Englishman capable of starting on the front row in the Sprint, taking the lead in Saturday's race and then finishing in second place behind the unstoppable Max Verstappen.
However, the interventions carried out on his Mercedes between the Sprint and Qualifying have destroyed the weekend of the seven-time world champion, sending him to the third to last place on the starting grid and making him finish at ninth place in the Sunday race.
Hamilton's analysis
“I made the wrong decision with the set-upI will not do it again“, said Lewis Hamilton at Viaplayadding: “It was probably the worst setup I've ever had. Our machine runs in a small window and I really thought I made the right decision. Instead it was the worst possible, but the next race will be better.”
Hamilton then went into detail about the problems he encountered at the wheel: “At high speeds it was fine, while at low speeds it simply wouldn't turn. AND this destroys the rear tires. I'm happy to get to the points, I didn't expect much more. We will try to have a better weekend in Miami.”
