The president’s dream went like this: With Marc Unterberger, they wanted to make their way up the Unterhaching game association and ideally shape an era – just like Christian Streich at SC Freiburg or Frank Schmidt at 1. FC Heidenheim. Manfred Schwabl repeatedly compared the family atmosphere in his suburban club with that in Breisgau or on the Ostalb. But shortly before the end of the first half of the second season under the direction of the former youth coach Unterberger, this dream was shattered quite suddenly: after the 0-2 defeat at Energie Cottbus, the twelfth third division game for Haching in a row without a win, the club said goodbye Trainers separated.
“Unfortunately, we have come to the decision that we need a new impulse in our current sporting situation. This decision was not easy for us because Marc has been part of the Haching family for 15 years and has been a coach in the club from the U10 to the professionals,” said Haching President Schwabl. According to the press release from Sunday afternoon, Unterberger is “grateful for 15 good years in Unterhaching. I wish the team that they can quickly earn the points they need to stay in the league.”
At least until the winter break, assistant coach Sven Bender will now take over the management of the professional team together with the existing coaching team. Before the season, Bender came to Unterhaching from Borussia Dortmund, where he was Nuri Sahin’s assistant, where he had already played in his youth.
