Ocampo, Michoacán.- José Luis García Pompa, director of Public Security of the municipality of Ocampo, was deprived of his libertypresumably by a criminal cell called Group X of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG)which operates in eastern Michoacán.
Last Monday night, an armed command entered the official’s homein the community of San Cristóbal, lor got into a vehicle and left the site. According to an approved report from the security forces.
While the criminals were fleeing, another armed group, presumably from Los Correa cartel, intercepted them and began a confrontation with the aim of freeing the director of Security.
Local and national media report that García Pompa worked hand in hand with Los Correaand despite the attempt to recover the director, they did not achieve the objective.
So far, the Michoacán State Attorney General’s Office has not issued a search alert for the disappearance of the official.
It is not the first time that he CJNG takes a municipal official from Ocampo.
On September 28, Omar Daniel Colín Alanís, secretary of the Ocampo City Council, and his father, Juan Colín Vanegaswere kidnapped and transferred to the neighboring municipality of Zitácuaro, where were located their bodies with bullet wounds and a narco-message signed by Group X of the CJNG.
The head of the CJNG plaza in the eastern part of Michoacán is William Edwin Rivera Padilla, alias El Barbas, El Águila and/or El X.
The X, had already made contact with Omar Colin, to demand the payment of quotas, as well as a series of actions to seize several sawmills in the municipalitythis information was known thanks to the intelligence work of the security forces.
It has also been pointed out that Colin had been summoned by El X on several occasions in Zitácuaro to exert pressure on their demands.
