The Director-General of Fujairah Municipality, Eng. Muhammad Saif Al-Afkham, revealed the completion of intensive inspection campaigns to ensure the safety of the most commonly traded foods during the holy month in preparation for receiving the blessed month of Ramadan, and the opening of the Ramadan market was organized opposite Fujairah Corniche to display and sell Ramadan foods of all kinds, after stopping. He stressed that the municipality gives the blessed month of Ramadan a great priority to achieve the safety of individuals through food and circulated foods, through the establishment of sudden and intense inspection campaigns before the advent of the holy month on various markets, shops and public facilities in the field of distributing and selling food materials, from popular kitchens and Restaurants, cafeterias, bakeries, sweets stores, groceries, consumer complexes, retail centers, food stores, butcheries and supermarkets.
Al Afkham pointed out that the inspection campaigns that included 560 food and health facilities in the emirate resulted in warning 34 facilities and 28 other violations, after it was proven that they did not comply with the health requirements, in addition to their non-compliance with the conditions imposed on them by the municipality. On the other hand, 498 establishments registered their full compliance without registering any Violation or warning.
He noted that working hours have been set for observers and inspectors to follow up on the conditions of the emirate and its facilities during the holy month of Ramadan, and emergency inspectors have been allocated throughout the day to deal with complaints and observations that will be received through the customer service center by calling the toll-free number 80036.
Al Afkham pointed out that all slaughterhouses belonging to the Emirate of Fujairah have been fully equipped to ensure that carcasses are subjected to a veterinary examination before the slaughter process, and slaughterhouses operate during the holy month from 8:00 in the morning until 5:00 in the evening and from 9:00 in the evening until 11:00 30:30 p.m. On Fridays, the working hours of slaughterhouses in the emirate are from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and from 9:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. This is under the supervision of a specialized medical staff and modern equipment and techniques in order to accommodate the large numbers of carcasses.
