The ministerial meeting of the Arab six-party group, the “ministerial consultative” meeting, which was held in Riyadh today, stressed the necessity of ending the war on the Gaza Strip, reaching an immediate and complete ceasefire, ensuring the protection of civilians in accordance with international humanitarian law, and lifting all restrictions that obstruct the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
The participants in the meeting expressed their support for all efforts aimed at international recognition of the independent Palestinian state, in a way that achieves the aspirations of the brotherly Palestinian people.
The Saudi News Agency reported that His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs, chaired the meeting, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Anwar bin Muhammad Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President, His Excellency Dr. Ayman Al-Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and His Excellency Sameh. Shukri, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt, His Excellency Hussein Al-Sheikh, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Minister of Civil Affairs, and His Excellency Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi, Minister of State in the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The attendees stressed the importance of taking irreversible steps to implement the two-state solution, and recognizing the State of Palestine on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant international resolutions, stressing that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Palestinian land, and their categorical rejection of any attempts to displace the people. The ministers warned of the continuation of illegal Israeli measures in the West Bank and East Jerusalem that undermine the two-state solution.
