Jimi Salonen and Olli Penttala advanced to the final of the Beijing Winter Olympics humpback on Saturday. Salonen was fourth in the qualifying competition and Penttala ninth.

“It was a good fall. The foot didn’t quite work out the way I wanted, but I was able to keep the package together and there was an intact fall. It got good scores, ”said Salonen of the Finnish Olympic team With a Twitter account.

“There was a bit of a harsh almost full middle section, but a pretty good fall. There was still room for improvement, cleaner but the middle part and the lower jump a little cleaner, so it’s cool, ”Penttala explained.

Severi Vierelä was in the 25th qualifier and will face another qualifier on Saturday, with ten more athletes advancing to the finals. The final will also be raced on Saturday.
