There are 22 units of the rescue service.

Nokian on linnanvuorientie, an industrial facility’s hall building with an area of approximately one thousand square meters is burning, the Pirkanmaa rescue service says. The rescue service was alerted to the fire at 11:25 p.m.

The duty chief of the rescue service Mika Kupiainen told Ilta-Sanom at half past two that the interior of the building used as a storage space had been extinguished.

“Now we are fighting with extinguishing the roof structures.”

There is currently no information on the cause of the fire. The rescue service is not aware of any personal injuries.

According to Kupainen, the operation will continue for at least a couple of hours. There are 22 units from the rescue service.

“We’ll see how the roof structure can be dismantled, whether the roof can be extinguished. Yes, it will take its own time. It depends on how far the fire spreads and whether it can be contained, difficult to estimate.”

There is currently no risk of spreading to neighboring buildings. The fire is between the roof structures, and there was hardly any thermal radiation outside the building.

“Doesn’t that fire stay in the structures,” Kupiainen states.

There is no damage estimate yet.

“Tomorrow, when the day dawns, we will be wiser as to how the building will fare.”
