The Ministry of Education (MEC) informed that the number of vacancies for the Student Financing Fund (Fies) in 2022 will be 110,925, of which 66,555 in the first semester and 44,370 new vacancies in the second semester. The information was released yesterday (29) by the program’s management committee.
“In all, 110,925 places will be made available for the year 2022, the first year of the Triennial Plan, period 2022 to 2024, with an investment of R$ 500 million in the Fies Guarantee Fund (FG-Fies), from the Ministry of Education budget (MEC)”, informed the folder.

Fies is a federal government program aimed at granting funding to students regularly enrolled in non-free higher education courses and with a positive evaluation in the processes conducted by the MEC. Registration for Fies takes place twice a year, before the start of classes each semester.
To enroll, the student must have taken one of the editions of the National High School Exam (Enem) between 2010 and 2020.
In addition, the participant must have grades equal to or above 450 points and a grade other than zero in the essay. Another criterion is the monthly family income, which has to be up to three minimum wages per person.
