With the new name made official, Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team, Racing Bulls continues to prepare for its 2024 season and its future by announcing important news.
This afternoon the team based in Faenza and Milton Keynes made official the arrival of two very important technicians who will become part of their organization chart. We are talking about Tim Goss and Guillaume Cattelani.
Tim Goss will occupy the role of Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and will report directly to the new team principal, Laurent Mekies, who will replace Franz Tost from this year.

Tim Goss, McLaren Technical Director
The former McLaren engineer – he worked in Woking for 28 years – and now former technical director of the FIA, will begin working in his new role starting from October this year. He will therefore be left out in the development of the 2024 single-seater and in the preparation of the 2025 one.
“I am very happy to join this team, ready to enter a new era,” said Goss. “It's a team with great pride and history, with some exceptional people already in place. I can't wait to start working with team principal Laurent Mekies and alongside Jody Egginton. There's an exciting challenge ahead of us , but I believe the team is well equipped to do well.”
That's not all, because Guillaume Cattelani also arrives in Racing Bulls. He is an aerodynamicist with great experience in motorsport, because over the years he worked at Peugeot Sport on the 908 project for the World Endurance Championship and then moved to Formula 1 first with McLaren, then with Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technologies.
Cattelani's move from Red Bull to Racing Bulls will take up the role of deputy technical director. This means that he will have to report directly to Jody Egginton, who still remains the team's technical director despite the disappointing seasons the team has had in terms of performance.
“It's great to have the opportunity to work on taking the Visa Cash App RB team to the next level of competitiveness,” said Cattelani. “I look forward to working with Jody and all the other members of the technical team to create cars that can take the team to the top of the grid.”

Alan Permane, Sports Director, Alpine F1 Team Press Conference
Alan Permane, already announced as arriving in Faenza a few weeks ago, takes on the role of Racing Director with immediate effect and will also report to Laurent Mekies.
“After a few months of inactivity, it's great to be back racing with the Visa Cash App RB team,” commented Alan. “From long experience, I know how professional, motivated and competitive the people within this race team are and I can't wait to see where this spirit can take the team in the future.”
Commenting on the appointments, Visa Cash App RB Formula One Team CEO Peter Bayer said: “These appointments represent a strong step forward for Racing Bulls. The appointments of Guillaume and Alan will increase our car design and development capability and performance on track. Then, with Tim's arrival in October, we will have put in place the key elements of a structure designed to accompany us in the next phase of our journey and ensure the long-term success of the team.”
Laurent Mekies, Team Principal at Visa Cash App RB, added: “The appointments of Tim, Guillaume and Alan add a huge amount of winning experience to the Team and I have no doubt that they will help take the team to the next level in F1. We have already a very strong and highly experienced group in the Team and bringing highly qualified people like Tim, Guillaume and Alan on board will increase our capability and help us meet the highest technical standards of the Visa Cash App RB F1 Team, both in the factory and on the track”.
Visa Cash App RB Technical Director Jody Egginton added: “I look forward to working with Tim and Guillaume. Over the coming months Guillaume's focus on aerodynamics and vehicle dynamics will allow us to refine and develop this year's car and to add capability in the future, while Tim's arrival will absolutely give us the structure we need to create cars that will further elevate the team's performance in the coming years.”
