However, those who are worried about the low birth rate should also listen to mothers’ childbirth experiences as long as many couples in Finland do not have the number of children they wish for.
The speeches concerns began to gain visibility late last year after the baby died to the womb, when his mother, despite her several requests for help, was not taken care of in the congested Jorvi in Espoo. It properly highlighted a long-standing concern of families and professionals. When the labor ward has too few staff in relation to the number of births, births are forced to stay at home as long as possible.
About the same a recent statistic also says, according to which the share of unplanned out-of-hospital births among all births has doubled in ten years. Throughout the country, babies are born either on the way to the hospital or unplanned at home about four times per thousand births. In the Capital Region and Uusimaa, the number was already five in 2021.
