This remake features several new scenes that shine a spotlight on the protagonist’s father, Ortega, offering players a better understanding of the man himself and his story. The story also introduces new and fearsome enemies that will further enrich the narrative experience of DRAGON QUEST III.
Ortega, Hero of Aliahan (voiced by Dave Jones in English, Hiroki Touchi in Japanese)
Father of the game’s protagonist and one of Aliahan’s finest. Long ago, he set out on a quest to free the world from the Archmage Baramos, leaving behind his beloved wife and child. After scouring the realm in search of Baramos, Ortega met an untimely end when he fell into the mouth of a volcano during an epic battle.
A world rebuilt in HD-2D

Jipan
A small island nation known by many names: the Land of the Rising Sun, the Golden Country, to name a few. It is filled with countless cherry blossom trees and rice paddies. Venture beneath its massive shrine gate and you will eventually be greeted by a splendid mansion.
Ibis
A kingdom surrounded by miles of desert. Ibis has flora that can only be found in such a climate and the well within its borders is one of the few precious water reserves of its people. The nation was originally founded by King Faro and is now ruled by a queen renowned for her beauty.
The world is home to a myriad of exciting places to visit. You will be eager to meet all sorts of people and traverse the darkest dungeons. Everything you learn during your travels will surely help you defeat the Archmage Baramos!
DRAGON QUEST III HD-2D Remake will come out next November 14th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store.
