Saint Saturninus, also known as Cernin, Sernin or Serenín, was a Roman missionary who dedicated his life to spreading the word of God in the Iberian Peninsula, the Pyrenees and Gaul. He served as bishop of Toulouse, known at that time as Tolosa. His fate was tragic, since, according to the Acts of Surio, he suffered martyrdom at the hands of the pagans. The exact date of his martyrdom is not clearly documented, although some sources, such as the Acts of Saint Saturninus, place this event in the 1st century.
