Mechanism of the draw for the second round of the Copa del Rey
In the draw for the second round of the Cup, the 56 teams will be divided into four pots, corresponding to the different categories in which they compete: 16 teams from the First Division, 16 from the Second Division, 11 from the First Federation and 14 from the Second Federation . The draw is conditional, which guarantees that teams from lower categories face those from higher categories. The qualifiers will be played in a single match and will be played on the field of the lowest category club, whenever possible. In cases where two teams of the same category face each other, the club whose ball was drawn first will act as home team.

How many teams participate in the Cup draw?
In the draw for the second round of the Copa del Rey, the balls of the 55 winning teams of the first round are present, to which Deportivo de La Coruña joins as champion of the last edition of the First Federation. In total, 56 qualifying rounds: the 28 winning teams plus the four from the Super Cup (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca and Athletic) will now access the next round of this competition, in which the San Mamés team defends the title won in the last edition.
