The electrification process of the Citroen range also passes through the commercial vehicles division. Among the most iconic models that the French brand wanted to develop in a 100% electric variant, the Berlingo, which can now be ordered in Italy from € 26,535. We remind you that the new battery version of the Berlingo is proposed in two sizes, M and XL, respectively 4.40 meters and 4.75 meters, and is available in five versions, one of which has a double mobile cabin in XL size.
The electric version maintains all the qualities of the Berlingo Van in the thermal version, with a useful volume of up to 4.4 square meters, a useful length of up to 3.44 m and all the modularity of the Extenso cab. From a technological point of view, both the head-up display and the new one 10 ″ high definition digital screen improve the daily life of professionals. The most interesting feature, however, concerns the engine and battery specifications: in this respect, the new electric Berlingo is able to boast a range of 275 kilometers, ensured by its 50 kWh battery which is rechargeable to 80% in just 30 minutes from a super-fast public charging station. With a Green’Up socket, on the other hand, the vehicle is in its segment the one that allows you to recharge the battery from 0 to 100% during the night.
Said of the starting price of the new electric Berlingo, it must be said that the cost of use of this model is substantially reduced: the cost of electricity consumption is five times lower than the cost of fuel of a van with a heat engine and, since the maintenance of the electric vehicle is simplified, costs 30% less. Furthermore, thanks to the absence of an oil filter, gearbox or clutch, mechanical stress, wear or breakages are significantly reduced, and the brake pads are less stressed thanks to the braking energy recovery system.
