Citroen prepares its offensive in India and South America. In the second half of this year it will introduce a new compact SUV coupé to these markets, anticipated in recent days by the concept Basalt Vision. A prototype that encompasses different styles and different bodywork if we want: fluidity and dynamism of a coupé, robustness and raised driving position of an SUV, balanced proportions and great space of a 5-door sedan.
Citroen Basalt Vision
High ground clearance, high bonnet, upright front end, widened fenders and wheel arches protected with exclusive geometric details are just some of the aesthetic details of this concept car, the first official images of which have been released by Citroen itself in recent days. However, the specifications of the motor range: whether it will be only thermal, only electric or will benefit from both solutions we will only find out in the next few weeks.
A name, a guarantee
What we know with certainty, however, is that the name “Basalt” that we find in this concept car will also be confirmed with the series model. Why this choice? Because, explains the French brand, “It evokes the strength and solidity of basalt, a magmatic rock that comes from the depths of the earth. Resistant, timeless material. Values that marry perfectly with a vehicle that will have solidity and reliability among its own strengthsensuring maximum serenity while driving: a truly safe and protected place of choice in which to relax.”
Debut in the second half of 2024
About this prototype, Thierry KoskasCEO of Citroen, said: “We are delighted to unveil the third pillar of our programme, which aims to give new impetus to Citroën's international growth.
