Annie Windley is a completely different person today: photos from the past are shocking
A story that has warmed the hearts of many people and has become a source of inspiration for all those who today face a difficult battle like his. The protagonist’s name is Annie Windley and lives in England. It was she who wanted to tell the world about her experience, with the hope of being able to help others.
Today this girl is in rehabilitation and has managed to get her life back. For years she fought againstanorexiaa disorder that caused her serious health problems, isolation from social relationships and which put her at risk of a heart attack.
It weighed just 29 kgfor 5 years Annie Windley ate only one piece of toast a day. She was afraid of gaining weight, she counted carbohydrates, she sweated in front of a text of lasagna. She was hospitalized several times, doctors were worried about her health condition. She could barely stand and often fainted. In 2012 she was diagnosed with anorexia.
Everything changed when one day this young woman decided to indulge in a “cheat”, a chocolate. She understood that by eating that “forbidden” food, her body had not changed. She hadn’t gained weight. Without overdoing it and by following a balanced diet, she could control her weight. Great help also came fromlove of running. For years at school she was bullied because of her weight and excluded from all sporting activities. The school nurses were concerned about her health, she was too thin and weak.
Today she has recovered and seeing the difference with the photos of the past is heart-warming. In October last year she even managed to complete the Chesterfield Marathon.
The words of Annie Windley
I have come to realize that rehabilitation is an exciting, unforgettable and amazing process. I believe my anorexia will always be part of me, but I have learned to control it and stop thinking about food. It’s never too late to change for the better. I put the energy I used to limit my food intake into running and my mindset has completely changed. I understood the importance of taking care of yourself. We need to show our riots that we can do it.
One day Annie armed herself with courage, decided to face her eating disorder, started exercising again and following a balanced diet. She feels beautiful and healthy today, she has found love and many friends who supported her and who continue to do so every day. Instead of a small piece of bread a day, he prefers to have breakfast with two scones and a cup of tea, lunch with a poached egg and cherry tomatoes, with a pasta salad or jacket potatoes, dinner with salmon and vegetables or chicken risotto . In short, a diet that varies every day, balanced, but which helps her to take in all the nutrients she needs and at the same time to check his line.
I wish I could go back and tell my younger self to stop. People believe that people like me just want attention. That’s not the case, it’s hard to explain what you’re going through to someone who doesn’t understand.
