The Invasion Shield Festivities are celebrated in Cieza at the end of this month of April. They commemorate the siege that one of the last Nasrid raids caused in the town of Cieza, which a troop commanded by King Abu-l-Hassan annihilated. Aside from the mournful memory, the festivities become a moment of remembrance towards those first Ciezanos and also of hope so that such bloody acts do not happen again.
