China has announced that its Chang’e-6 probe has successfully arrived at the far side of the Moon. The moon landing in a huge crater known as the South Pole-Aitken Basin occurred at 6.23am today, Beijing time, the National Space Administration of China announced. The mission of the probe, which was launched on May 3, is to collect, for the first time in history, soil and rock samples from this less explored region of the Moon.
