Boric grabbed 56 percent of the vote in the second round of the presidential election and defeated his opponent, who played with populist rhetoric.
In Chile put a right-wing presidential candidate Jose Antonio Kast has acknowledged his election defeat, and the leftist Gabriel Boricista is becoming the new president of South America.
Kast, 55, said even before the official result was confirmed On Twitter after talking to Boric and congratulating the former student leader on the election success.
“From now on, he (Boric) will be the president elected by Chile, and he deserves all the respect and constructive cooperation,” Kast wrote.
Chileans took to the streets of the capital, Santiago, to celebrate Boric’s victory, following the announcement of Cast. The people waved not only Boric-positive posters but also rainbow flags and shouted Viva Chile, long live Chile.
“I’m excited, crying for joy, working in a pharmacy,” Jennie Enriquez, 45, told AFP.
Enriquez stressed that voters had also undermined fascism with their election.
Construction worker Luis Astroga, 58, for his part, said he rejoiced at how much change the country and the working class would see in the country.
“I will do my best to rise to meet this amazing challenge,” Boric said after the election, thanking the Chileans for the trust they provided.
After the second round held on Sunday, the election apartments closed at midnight Finnish time.
Finland by Monday, more than 99 percent of the vote in the second round of the presidential election had been counted, and official results also confirmed Boric’s election victory. Boric, 35, had received nearly 56 percent of the vote and Kast about 44 percent. Boric took the win by a larger margin than expected.
In the first round in November, Kast received about 28 percent and Boric about 25 percent of the vote.

During his campaign, Kast has appeared as a defender of law and order. He also admires the dictator who ruled the country from 1973 to 1990 Augusto Pinochetia. Kast has also maintained opposition to immigration and profiled himself as a defender of Chilean identity.
