Change negotiations | Posti starts change negotiations, almost 300 jobs are threatened

According to Posti, the number of shipments transported has decreased significantly.

Postal announces that it is starting change negotiations, which may lead to a reduction of up to 295 jobs.

The change negotiations concern Posti's online shopping and distribution services business. A total of 1,319 people who work in transport and terminal jobs are covered by the negotiations.

Posti says in its press release that it is planning to reform its business and transport services, because shipments transported have decreased significantly due to the weak economic cycle.

The reforms aim for a more flexible and efficient transport network.

“The general outlook of the economy and the downward trend in transport volumes confirm the need for a comprehensive renewal of our transport network. This also requires a review of the current operating models and work tasks, and we will have to initiate change negotiations”, says the person in charge of business and transport services Ari Olli In the post's bulletin.

In the bulletin it is emphasized that the need for change negotiations is based on reduced customer demand and not on other external factors, such as the labor market situation.

According to Posti, the planned reforms will not affect its customers or services.

The change negotiations do not concern the Postipalvelut business, nor Transval's warehouse or internal logistics services. Posti employs a total of approximately 15,000 people in Finland.
