The events of “Bus 22” take place in a city covered by sand in the Arabian Gulf, where Ananda wakes up to a tragic accident in which her young daughter is a victim. Ananda’s dream of a better life for her family than the one they left behind in India is shattered, and she begins a journey of sadness and anger, accompanied by her daughter’s ashes. She forgets that she has another child alive.
The film began its tour with its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada, and continued its journey with several festivals during which it was able to attract the attention of the public and critics, including the Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival in India, and the Diorama International Film Festival in the Emirates. The film also won its first screening in Africa with the Best Film award at the Jubaj Festival.
