Barack Obama attended the big Glasgow climate conference alongside Joe Biden to try to convince the world that America is more attached to the current president than to Donald Trump. At least when it comes to fighting climate change. Without considering, however, what is happening in Washington, where the president’s climate agenda has just undergone a major cut in Congress.
AND an extremely unusual appearance that of a former president at a world leaders event, but sources close to Obama told CNN that the former president wants to help Biden regain global confidence in American leadership on this issue and get the global alliance back on track after four Trump years.
Obama “has a global following”, explains CNN. “Young people in particular are desperate and wonder if the politicians are up to the task. Instead they see Obama as a source of inspiration and who says things as they are.”
Of course, Obama is also very popular abroad and has a more immediate and powerful media impact than the current Vice President of Biden Kamala Harris. If “Sleepy Joe” wants to win back his polish (and votes) then he will have to put her or John Kerry aside and rely on the brilliant image of Barack Obama.
