The squad included modifications at the level of attack, midfield and goalkeeper, as Belmadi strengthened the team with two strikers from the French club Nice, Yacine Brahmi and Andy Delors.
The Greens coach called up Riyad Mahrez, Islam Slimani, Adam, Nas, Belaili and Mohamed Amora, while the list did not include striker Baghdad Bounedjah.
Tough friendly matches
On Friday, Belmadi arrived in Algeria to supervise his first training session with the Greens, since last June.
The Algerian coach will start the new season with the desert warriors, through two friendly matches against Guinea and Nigeria, at the Oran Stadium, on September 22 and 27.
This new assignment for Belmadi comes two months before the end of his contract with the Algerian Football Federation next December.
The contract is automatically renewed, despite its failure to fulfill the dream of millions of Algerians to reach the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Turn the page of differences
With this squad, Belmadi has officially closed the page of the dispute between him and the French club Nice striker Andy Delors, and decided to use him in the basic formation of the Greens after Delors made an official apology to the Algerian people.
Delors sent a letter of apology to the Algerian people, explaining part of the reasons for his boycott of the Greens during the 2022 African Nations Cup qualifiers.
“There was a lot of competition in Nice and I had a personal problem that forced me to stay with my family,” Delors said in a video message.
Today, Belmadi looks at Delor as a key player and qualified to make the difference and restore the spirit to the offensive locomotive, which suffers greatly after the decline in the performance of striker Baghdad Bounedjah, who dispensed with Belmadi from his services.
Technically and technically, Belmadi’s task at the current stage is described as difficult and complex, despite the great public and administrative support he enjoys.
Former member of the Algerian Football League, Djamel Messaoudane, said that Belmadi arrived in Algeria knowing full well that the task is very difficult, especially from a psychological point of view for the players.
Masoudan added in an interview with Sky News Arabia: “The Algerian national team faces several problems, both at the level of attack, in the middle of the field, and even at the level of goalkeeper.”
In the midfield, Belmadi kept the old squad of the Greens, as he called up Smail bin Nasser, Ramez Zerrouqi, Adam Zerkan, Hisham Boudaoui and Nabil bin Taleb.
The line was reinforced by the newcomer Houssem Meriziq, Shabab Belouizdad, who is considered one of the most prominent discoveries of the Arab World Cup.
In defense, Belmadi summoned Issa Mandi, Abdel Qader Badran, Muhammad Toqai, Ahmed Touba and Youssef Attal, in addition to Hakim Zadaka, Ramez bin Sabaini and Hussein bin Ayada.
In the goalkeeper, Rice and Wahab Mbolhi were absent from the squad, while Belmadi kept Alexandre Okija, goalkeeper Ma and goalkeeper Mostafa Zoghba, and was reinforced by newcomer Anthony Mandria, goalkeeper of the French team Cone.
Masoudan confirms that the situation of many prominent players in the ranks of the Greens is what worries me the most at the current stage, especially the future of Manchester City star Riyad Mahrez.
And the Algerian sports analyst said: “It is not possible in any way to know what is going on in Belmadi’s mind, although there are players who rely on them strongly, led by Ismail Bennacer, Issa Mandi and Ahmed Tuba.”
