Professor of Political Science at the University of Jordan, Dr. Muhammad Masalha, believes that any Arab meeting at this stage, especially at the leadership level, will be useful and more effective, with the issuance of practical and strategic decisions that respond to the scale of the challenges, especially the war in Gaza, which led to the death of thousands of civilians. Al-Masaliha stressed in a statement to Al-Ittihad that there is an urgent need for this summit, which Manama is hosting for the first time in its history, and that the Kingdom of Bahrain plays a pivotal role in the region in this historical circumstance, expecting it to focus on the role of the Arab group in the United Nations, especially in working to establish a state. In the same context, Dr. Tariq Fahmy, professor of political science and head of the Israeli Studies Unit at the National Center for Middle East Studies, said: The Arab summit comes at a time of utmost importance in terms of the timing and place of its holding, given that Bahrain is one of the countries influential in the Palestinian issue file, and that the summit will entail It has important situations in the file of the Arab-Israeli conflict and the war on Gaza.
Fahmi explained in a statement to Al-Ittihad that the Arab summit comes at an important time in the Middle East, specifically the Palestinian territories, so it is necessary for the summit to take decisions and measures to stop the war and provide humanitarian aid and reconstruction.
He described the Arab summit as “important and historic” in light of the challenges that the Arab region is going through, expecting the Arab leaders to take decisive measures and decisions related to stopping the war, and discussing Arab-American relations, neighboring countries, and emerging countries in the region, and it is expected that this summit will have a major role in Supporting the political and humanitarian situation and relief work, and providing aid to the Gaza Strip, in addition to future security arrangements and regional cooperation.
Fahmy pointed out that the summit will send important and strong messages to Israel and all parties that are trying to tamper with regional security in the Middle East, and the summit will have positive repercussions regarding a unified resolution to support Palestine in the United Nations General Assembly, full membership, and the two-state solution.
For his part, the Jordanian political and strategic analyst, Dr. Amer Al-Sabaila, stressed the centrality of this summit, which comes in exceptional circumstances and difficult events, foremost of which is the Israeli war on Gaza. It will support Arab positions and lead to a unified diplomatic movement formed during the recent period, which leads during this summit to Taking decisions and positions capable of achieving Arab consensus and appearing before the international community with a firm position.
Al-Sabaila explained to Al-Ittihad that the summit should discuss the post-war period in Gaza and the mechanisms for dealing with it, especially in light of the opportunity to form a unified Arab vision.
For his part, Iraqi political analyst, Dr. Abdul Karim Al-Wazzan, said: Holding the Arab summit in the Kingdom of Bahrain at this time requires taking decisive decisions to stop the war in Gaza, and that the Arab role should not be limited to that, but also extend to the position on Israel and the United States.
Al-Wazzan stated, in a statement to Al-Ittihad, that there are great burdens on the summit related to the war in Gaza and coming up with recommendations and decisions to stop the war and provide aid urgently, but after the war, it requires that the Palestinian parties be identified with the support of Arab countries to translate the international position and the two-state solution.
