The Astillero City Council has awarded the park and garden maintenance service to the company Urbaser, a decision that seeks to “improve and expand” the care services of the municipality’s green areas and public spaces.
This award, as reported by the City Council in a press release, includes the incorporation of two full-time employees and one part-time, which reinforces the team in charge of the management and maintenance of these spaces.
As part of this contract, Urbaser will work on the creation of new garden areas in Guarnizo, with the aim of expanding and beautifying the green spaces in this town of the municipality.
It also establishes a periodic disinfection program in dog parks, thus responding to neighborhood demand to improve health and safety conditions in these spaces shared by pets and their owners.
In addition, the contract includes maintenance tasks at the La Planchada field. From this award onwards, the field will receive regular care to ensure its conservation.
IMPORTANCE OF THE AWARD
For her part, the Councilor for the Environment, Emilia Moncada, has highlighted the importance of this award for the municipality and the neighbors.
“This contract will allow us to better respond to the needs of neighbors, caring for and expanding our green areas and improving their accessibility and enjoyment,” he commented. Likewise, he added that “we want both the residents of Astillero and those of Guarnizo to find a pleasant and safe place in these spaces.”
The City Council has explained that it continues its work to improve municipal services and the well-being of its citizens, providing “well-maintained and accessible” green spaces that promote coexistence, recreation and enjoyment of the municipality’s natural environment.
