Some considered that the announced ticket prices are “too exaggerated, and are suitable for an audience looking for a cinema movie, not a football match.”
The “My Ticket” company announced the opening of reservations for match tickets, through the company’s application on the Internet, starting from Tuesday morning.
The company said, “Based on the decision of the Egyptian Football Association, and after meetings with the competent authorities, the price of a cabin ticket was set at two thousand pounds, the price of a first-class ticket is 600 pounds, the price of an upper first-class ticket is 400 pounds, and the price of a second-class ticket is 250 pounds, while the price of a ticket for the upper class is 400 pounds. The third degree may be set at 100 pounds..
Sports critic, Mohamed Abdel Hafez, considered that “these prices are very high, and it is clear that the target of them is the cinema audience, not the well-known football audience.”.
He added, in statements to “Sky News Arabia”, that “the real football fans will not pay, and most of them do not have to pay these amounts, especially the third-degree audience, for them the amount of 100 pounds is too large for the 90 minutes in which they go to cheer.”
And he continued, “It seems that the goal is to mobilize an audience of the luxury class, for fear of the quarrels of the natural fans of football, in addition to the fact that the procedures for booking tickets on the application of the distributed company are complicated, and only a certain group will be able to deal with it completely far from encouragement.”.
And he added, “Unfortunately, this affects the team’s performance greatly, because the real fans of the ball continue to cheer for the last minute and have experience in matches, and even if the team’s level declines, this audience can raise the morale of the players to achieve progress.”
It should be noted that the number of attendance of the match has been determined.
“Sky News Arabia” contacted the “My Ticket” company to obtain a comment on the matter. An official in the company, preferring not to be named, said that setting ticket prices “is the responsibility of the Football Association alone, and that my ticket company is just a distributor for these tickets.”
And by contacting the member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association, Dina Al-Rifai, she confirmed to “Sky News Arabia” that the issue of tickets for the national team matches and their prices, “is the responsibility of the Executive Director of the Football Association, Walid Al-Attar, who is responsible for responding to and clarifying the matter.”
Sky News Arabia tried to contact Al-Attar about ticket prices, but he preferred not to answer.
