Many fans of the franchise Dino Crisisnow frozen for years, have not reacted very well to thead Of Exoprimal, the new dinosaur-based game from Capcom. The reason is easy to understand: it has nothing to do with the original series, while sharing several elements, including a key character.
The first Dino Crisis dates back to 1999 and was basically a Resident Evil clone in which dinosaurs played the role of villains. The last chapter of the series dates back to 2003. The most avid fans have been asking for the release of a new episode or the remastering of the old ones for years. Many had hoped for it when they saw Queena character from the Dino Crisis series, in the presentation film sent during Sony’s recent State of Play.
Imagine the disappointment when it was made clear that, in addition to the different name, Exoprimal is not a survival, but a cooperative shooter. In particular, the subreddit by Dino Crisis was unleashed, where the announcement was defined subdued, provocative and meaningless.
To make matters worse there was also the announcement of Hiroyuki Kobayashideveloper behind the Dino Crisis franchise, to be involved in the Exoprimal project.
Many have begun to ask them to give up and instead remaster the Dino Crisis or to make a new chapter (as if it were up to him Ed), while others have implied that Exoprimal was conceived just like a new Dino Crisis, to then be diverted in another direction. Others were more optimistic, stating that Exoprimal could be a Capcom test to see if there is still interest behind dinosaur games. Still others felt betrayed and did not fail to express their disappointment. In short, the sentiments expressed by the community were many, for the most part negative, but not all of the same tone.
For the rest we remind you that Exoprimal was announced for PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S and Xbox One. It will be released in 2023, on a date yet to be determined.
