At least two people have died this Tuesday in the collision between a train and a car at a level crossing that is on the road that connects the towns of Monzón de Campos and Husillos in the province of Palencia.
The smaller vehicle would have been left under the railway and the authorities are now working “in search of other alleged deceased “that could have been thrown from the vehicle.”
The accident occurred around ten in the morning when the Alvia Madrid-Santander train has overwhelmed tourism in a provisional passage through the works in that section, towards Cantabria, as reported by the Government Subdelegation in Palencia.
The two deceased They are of Portuguese nationality and there are already established bus services between Palencia and Osorno to cover the affected section, as indicated by the same sources.
92 passengers on board
The train had 92 passengers on boardas reported by the 112 emergency service of Castilla y León, which received the call about the incident from the Adif Security Center.
The 1-1-2 operations room has given notice of the incident to the Emergency Coordination Center, the Civil Guard (COS) of Palencia, the Firefighters of the Provincial Council of Palencia and Health Emergencies – Sacyl that sends a mobile ICU and two basic life support ambulances.
Upon arriving at the scene, the Civil Guard confirms the death of two people who were in the vehicle and continues to inspect the place because there could be more occupants at the time of the collision.
