This Wednesday’s Senate session included a bitter verbal exchange between Carla Antonelli, from Más Madrid, and Alfonso Serrano, from the Popular Party. Antonelli had begun his speech by pointing out that Teresa Ribera had been appointed vice president of the European Commission thanks to the votes of the European PP: “Mr. Feijóo, making a fool of himself once again.”
The senator also criticized the “bipolarity” of the PP: “They say that the victims come first, but then the victims are relegated to the background (…) They have been raising smoke screens for years to cover up indecencies.”
In that sense, he remembered “the 7,291 elderly people who were left to die in the residences of Madrid alone and suffocated, which was not known until Alberto Reyero [exconsejero de Asuntos Sociales de la Comunidad de Madrid con Ciudadanos] “It brought to light the protocol of shame.” He reproached Alfonso Serrano, senator of the PP, for laughing at his words: “Do you find it funny that they have killed 7,291 elderly people?”
Serrano described Antonelli’s words as “atrocious” and questioned her: “Every time you speak, the Popular Party wins votes. “You are an embarrassment to the project you represent.” “You are right about something: both with 11-M, with Yak 42, and with any misfortune that involves human lives, the left will inevitably always use death.”
