An ode to exploration and discovery
Those who have a few more years under their belt will certainly have some memories of a first-person PC adventure, which in the wake of titles like Myst had managed to create a decent following, becoming a cult title for many players. It was about Amerzonedebut title for Benoît Sokal, appreciated cartoonist of Belgian origins and creator of the series Syberia (purchasable from GameStop, at this link).

Yesterday a new trailer was published (you can find it at the end of the article) for Amerzone – The Explorer’s Legacy, which shows the key elements of the story by showing the old Valembois. This now elderly explorer invites the player, who impersonates a young journalist, to remedy the mistakes of his past and set off in search of the precious White Bird egg to bring him back to his country of origin, the Amerzone precisely.
Driven by the remorseful story of a fallen explorer, we will set off on an adventure to discover a forgotten land, the Amerzone, digging into the past and investigating the remains of this land that hides many secrets. The objective will be to discover the key to the mystery of the Great White Birds, the endemic species of the Amerzone.
To the delight of old and new fans, a limited edition of will also be available Amerzone – The Explorer’s Legacy dedicated to the 25th anniversary. The Media Book included in this special edition pays homage to the graphic work done by the legendary Benoît Sokal in 1999, as well as the efforts of the Microids Studio Paris teams in 2024 to breathe new life into this masterpiece of point-and-click adventure games.
