Famin explains divorce with Ocon
Esteban’s actions Or with in Monte-Carlo they did not cost him his place for 2025, because his fate had most likely already been decided. The Frenchman will part ways with Alpine at the end of the year, and it is possible that his move against Pierre Gasly at the Portier was only the consequence of the end of his relationship with the team.
Team principal Bruno Famin he harshly criticized Ocon after the accident (which without the red flag would have cost Gasly last place, taking a point away from the team) but explained how the divorce from the #31 is independent of the Monaco GP.
Famin’s words
“I think with Esteban we were clearly at the end of a cycle. He has been with us for five years and will continue to be with us for the remaining two thirds of the championship. I’m sure that in these 16 weekends we will do an excellent job together. I trust his professionalism, we will do our best to achieve the best results“, this is his comment to the British Sky Sports UK.
“We managed them by talking to them directly about what is positive and what is negative for the team, this made things easier for everyone. Gasly’s partner? I believe that the relationship between drivers doesn’t count, but professionalism does. The riders have to work together, it is part of their job to collaborate with their teammate and get the best for the team“.
